New DuPont Paper Technology Boosts Fine-Pitch SMT Throughput
For nearly a decade, Micro•Wipe™ stencil rolls from Micro Care have been the industry’s standard. Now, Micro Care raises the bar with DuPont’s newest stencil cleaning fabric, Sontara® FP. Engineered specifically for lead-free and fine-pitch environments, this new wiper increases throughput while reducing defects.

Micro•Wipe™ FP Paper Delivers Unexpected Savings
The Micro•Wipe™ FP fabric is different from traditional stencil papers. These rolls are made of a hydroentangled mesh of a durable, absorbent polymer of synthetic rayon (traditional rayon is made from wood fiber). As such, Micro•Wipe™ FP rolls are stronger, more consistent and more absorbent than the traditional stencil rolls. This delivers a dramatic boost in fine pitch yields.

MicroWipe™ FP rolls are able to wipe a stencil clean without using solvents. It has been repeatedly proven that using solvents during stencil wiping contaminates the solder paste, resulting in inconsistent results (can you spell "rework"?). By deactivating the wetting bar and eliminating the solvent, this source of contamination and inconsistency is eliminated. This saves money, speeds production and boosts yields.

Performance Booster
The performance specifics about the Micro•Wipe™ FP rolls are pretty amazing. In addition to eliminating the solvent, the new rolls reduce the number of time-wasting cleaning cycles, producing stunning improvements in productivity. The new rolls also clean better, allowing more paste to flow onto the board and resulting in stronger solder joints. Overall, Micro•Wipe™ FP rolls generally produce an 83% reduction in defects and rework.

Other Stencil Cleaning Fabrics
In addition to the new Micro•Wipe™ FP rolls, Micro Care continues to offer other fabrics. The original Sontara® “Classic” is available for all the major printers. Sontara® “E” is a thinner fabric, permitting more effective use of the vacuum feature. Micro Care also produces the “C” rolls for customers looking for the least expensive option, even though the “C” rolls only are suited for less critical SMT applications. All of these are available in every popular configuration, with all the widths, lengths and configurations required.

In an important new development in flat wipes, Micro Care features a new line of Micro•Wipe™ flat wipes made from the new DuPont Sontara® FP paper. These wipes are stronger, more absorbent and ten times cleaner than competing wipes.
Micro Care offers a full array of dry, cut sheet wipes (flat wipes) for the simplest to the toughest cleaning applications. They range in size from tiny 6 in x 6 in. (9x9 cm) wipes for tight spaces, to a capacious
12 in. x 16 in. (30 cm x 40 cm) in size. Custom sizes also are available if your need demands specific configurations.
